Political Action

KAIA members help support two political action committees (PACs) as a means to strengthen the voice of independent agents in the election and legislative process. KIAPAC is focused on supporting candidates on the state level who understand and support the independent agent system, and InsurPAC is focused on supporting candidates at the federal level. From taxes to tort reform, the Kansas Legislature each year considers bills that impact independent agents and their businesses. KIAPAC is a critical part of the association's efforts to build relationships with Kansas elected officials and to keep members of the Legislature informed about issues impacting small businesses and the independent agent system.

What is KIAPAC?

KIAPAC is KAIA's Kansas-based political action committee. It is managed by a committee of Kansas independent agents who are engaged in the association's government affairs work. KIAPAC contributes to statewide races and to Kansas legislative races. The PAC seeks to support candidates who recognize and understand the issues that affect small businesses and the independent agent system.

Congress regularly considers legislation that directly affects the livelihood of independent agents – from taxes, healthcare and flood insurance to the overhaul of the insurance regulatory system. It is vital that independent agents play an active role in shaping the public policy debate and, ultimately, shaping the laws that come out of Washington, D.C. InsurPAC is one of the ways that independent agents continue to have a recognized voice at the table when it comes to legislation affecting small businesses and the insurance industry.

What is InsurPac?

InsurPAC, which is affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, is one of the largest PACs in the insurance industry. This PAC contributes to Congressional and U.S. Senate candidates who support small business and the American independent agent system.

How to contribute

Contributions to InsurPAC must come from individuals. Corporations are prohibited from contributing to a federal PAC. Donors may contribute online, or checks may be sent with the InsurPAC donor form to:
