Wood-Dulohery Insurance, Inc. to Merge with ICI Insurance to Become Wood Insurance Center, LLC

PARSONS, Kan. – Wood-Dulohery Insurance, Inc., with operating locations in Parsons and Pittsburg, has merged effective July 1, 2022, with Insurance Center Inc. (ICI), headquartered in El Dorado, Kansas. Making the announcement, Bob Wood, president of Wood-Dulohery Insurance, said his partner and co-owner Mike Dulohery has sold his interest in the firm and it has been renamed Wood Insurance Center, LLC. Dulohery plans to remain as a consultant at this time. Bob Wood continues as president and there will be no disruption of services offered to Wood-Dulohery Insurance clients.

“This is an exciting time for both the firm and clients we serve,” says Wood. “With Mike’s decision to leave after 27 years with our company, we began to explore ideas to bring more opportunities to our clients and current team members. I’ve known Ryan Murry and the team at ICI for years and have great respect for them. They share our community-based philosophy and commitment to customer service, and they have the same family atmosphere we have enjoyed at Wood Dulohery. They’re also one of the most progressive and successful insurance organizations in Kansas, and I’m looking forward to the future as we expand our services in this part of the state.”

ICI is an independent insurance agency with roots dating back to 1885. With locations in El Dorado, Wichita, Augusta, Derby, Emporia and Garden City, ICI provides commercial property and casualty insurance, personal insurance, and employee benefits to clients across the Midwest and beyond. “ICI offers comprehensive insurance programs for complex commercial risks, home and auto, and everything in between,” says Ryan Murry. “We have expertise in many different industries, including transportation, construction, oil and gas, healthcare, senior living, manufacturing, education and public entities. Our Employee Benefits department has created a unique, partially self-funded program for groups with 20 employees or more, and we offer an in-house 360 Safety Program to help our clients improve their safety cultures.

“This is a new partnership between two firms that respect the need to continually innovate to bring the best insurance solutions to our clients,” Murry says. “I’ve known and respected the Wood-Dulohery agency for as long as I’ve been in the industry. Their focus on their clients and the communities they serve aligns very well with ICI’s values.

“My grandparents are from Pittsburg,” Murry adds, “and my father grew up there. I have very fond memories of the Pittsburg community and I’m excited about spending time there again.  This was just the perfect opportunity for the future of our organization.”

Both Wood-Dulohery and ICI are members of Combined Agents of America (CAA), a privately held group committed to strengthening the role of independent insurance agencies through collaboration. Wood Insurance Center, with Bob Wood remaining at the helm, will continue to serve a four-state area with residential and commercial insurance solutions; the firm’s value-added business solutions in the areas of human resources and loss control prevention will be further enhanced. WD Ag Services, a division of Wood Dulohery Insurance, will continue to offer complete package policies for farms and ranches. Wood Dulohery Real Estate will continue to operate with no change.
